Metatrader 4 is no longer works on my Sony Xperia L after updating to the latest Android version,

Dear All,

Metatrader 4  ( a ForEx App) is no longer working on my Sony Xperia L after updating to the latest Android version, used to work with the old version of android on the same phone.

I did purchase the phone just because this App ( Metatrader 4) and now after update it says that the device is not supported, talked with Sony they said that I cannot Roll back the Android update, the same as a PC roll back, to the older version of the Android in which the Metatrader used to work fine. talked with the metatrader 4 App people they said that as far as they are concerend the App should work with any platform and they cannot individually design an app for each version of different software, read somewhere on line that if one changes the screen resoultion ( it was about a similar problem but a different handset)one woudl be able to make the metatrader 4 work with the new version of the android.

I am not sure as to how to change the resolution of the screen, it is no possible to do this via the Setting as there are no such thing or functionality under the accessiblility or any other obvious thing in the setting, I will be grateful for any help either in changing the screen resolution of my sony xperia l or any other workaround solutions to get the metatrader 4 working back please. Also I have been told by Sony people that if I resit to the factory setting that doesn't mean that I will be having the version of Android that Matatrader 4 used to work, they said that factory resit will not restore the Android old version. I will be grateful for any help.  Thanks.

Its up to the app developer to address andy issues with this app/ compatibility issues, not Sony. 

As for downgrade your phone you have 2 options

1) take it to a Sony repair center and they might be able to help you 

or 

2) use flashtool

Again, apps, games, widgets compatibility its up to the app/game/widget developer not Sony.

the App was working fine with Sony and the Android version, it is since the update that things gone wrong.

I will be grateful for some advice as to;

   1st: if I reset the phone to its factory settings, is that mean that the Android version ( the latest) will be deleted as well and only the version of Android that the phone will have will be that which was installed in the factory willbe on the phone( i.e. the old version of Android, if that is the case them the problem will be solved)???? as Sony people said that might not be the case !!!!!

2nd You have mentioned Fashtools, what is the adventage of this over factory reset???

Again, you probably had Android 4.1 and now 4.2, its up to the app developer to customize it so it will work with most if not all Androids, again its up to the app developer, not Sony, that's normal. 

If you perform a factory reset you will remain on Android 4.2 (the latest update) not the previous version. 

2) flashtool its a PC software that will flash/install other firmwares, you can update or downgrade your phone, this is "could" void your warranty.
