Media GO not recognizing Xperia S

Since the last update (6.2.B.1.96), Media Go stopped recognizing my Xperia S, and it makes PC Companion to hang. So, I cannot make backups, nor syncs nor modify the media inside my phone. I can do nothing. It's not the first time I face this problem. I used to have this kind of issues with my Sony Ericsson W508 also. Is there any known issue?

Hi All,

I have an Xperia S smartphone that works pretty well, makes wonderful pictures and got stuck only 2 times during all his life (already 1 year and a half)

This really is not the case with Media Go that frankly puts me out of my mind !

As it was showing errors at start such as "It seems that Media Go did not stop correctly..." and the Net.framework error for assembly 'Accessibility' (3 times at every start), I uninstalled it and deleted everything in relation with an uninstaller software. Then reinstalled from scratch => result exactly the same behavior.

+ it took 4 days to synchronize my 10283 music tracks, videos and pictures, 78 Gigas altogether. Four days !

But the really bad point is when connecting my phone: hours to download the pictures and didn't even complete  until I had to unplug it to go to work, the clean way of course with “eject”

When I came back and plugged it in again to continue, I saw that it was starting all over again and checking the settings, noticed that a new exactly same Xperiatm S (LT26) device is in the list

The final point, and probably one of the reason of all this, Is that Media Go does not close when I close it, its process is still there, stuck in the tasks manager (process use at 0)

So please, if anyone of you has the solution, I’ll be very grateful to apply it and warmly thank you

Hello everyone!

I'm new in this blog and I hope that here I can find a solution to this problem.

I have the same problem since the last update of media go (2.5a) and Xperia s (android 4.1.2, build n° 6.2.B.1.96): I can not use Media Go and the phone together. At the connection, windows sees the phone, media go waits and PC Companion detects your phone. I may add that with great difficulty you can use PC Companion to backup data and so on.

As previously reported, Media Go recognizes the device for a very short time at the disconnection of the same from the PC.
Finally, I add that I use windows 7 64 bit, maybe the problem depends on it.

I have forwarded this for further investigation. I will update this thread as soon as i have more information.

If you have problems transferring files also with other applications and Windows Explorer you could try using MyPhoneExplorer from www.fjsoft.at as a workaround.

Hi there, I'm facing this issue as well, my media Go (2.5a build 299) could not detect my xperia S as well after I updated my phone to .96 firmware.

Bedies, My Windows Explorer freezes when I run my media go with xperia S connected to computer and it turns back normal when I disconnected my phone immediately.

Hope that there are some fixes for this issue since I always sync and back up my media with Media Go.

Hi,

I want to join the crowd and say that I am having the same issues - may be this helps to encourage Sony to make a fix for us Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi again!

I looked for a solution and for the latest phone drivers.

But, on this site (http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/, the official Sony website), I can't find a JB driver for this phone (Xperia S). Maybe this is the source of our problems?

Bye!

Good news everyone!

I downloaded an update for the phone and for Media Go (2.6) and now it sees the phone, so I think the problem is fixed.

Thank you so much Sony!:smileyhappy:

Hey guys! I think SONY finally did it and solved the issue. I've installed an update for MediaGO a few days ago (at the begining of December 2013) and everytime I connect the phone to the PC, MediaGo recognizes it almost immediately. I have to verify in another PC before updating MediaGo and after updating it, in order to check if the update effectively solves the issue.

Regards and thanks. It seems that the blog is useful.

I am still facing this problem and I am unable to sync my phone photos to the PC Media go is not recognizing my Xperia S.
I also have a Xperia U and it connects in seconds on the same PC
Above all I have 2-3 more issues for which I have been chasing Sony since August but there has been no progress to it.
Now my phone is out of warranty and you people are not even ready to help me out.
