Mcafee Security

Mcafee security which has come preinstalled on my xperia p, is it free and useful?

Does it use memory in the background if registered and drain my battery further?

Hi

Had the Xperia P for about four weeks now,

I spoke to friends with Androids and decided to remove it. Installed AVG instead so far no problems, it chips up every now and then checking installed apps which reassures me its doing something. Does not seem to interfere that much either.
