Malfunctioning touchscreen gone crazy

Hi,

My Xperia Z3 started doing this yesterday and hasn't stoped since.

I tried restoring it to default settings via Sony Companion and even tried leaving it all night in rice thinking it could have to do with humidity inside the phone but it's still the same.

It's like if it was detecting contact on the upper edge of the screen.

If anyone has had this problem before please let me know what the solution was.

does the phone has a protective case, film, glass? 

settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test the touchscreen

Hello Uliwooly,

it did have a tempered glass protection but I removed it just in case it was causing the problem.

At least at the momment I just can't enter the settings menu but I'll keep trying.
