When i first got my phone it worked perfectly are a media server. There was a software update, not to jelly bean but to 7.0.a.3.195 i think, my mate had update same day for his Xperia S. Now i either get an error or the sound stops playing after 3/4mins. The update also made it a little hard for me to find the "devices" feature. My old Xpera Play still works perfectly as media server!
Does anyone else have this problem? I doubt the Jelly Bean update wil fix this....
Any help appreciated
Thanks David
It sounds like there may have been an error in the installing of the last update on your device. I would advise running an update/repair:
1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.
Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
4. Phone Software Update.
5. Start.
6. Repair Phone
7. Continue
8. Accept data removal
9. Next
10. Wait for prepare
11. Select Phone
12. Follow the connection steps

I have simular issues with my xperia t and dlna. I can see mediaservers just fine, i just can not connect to them. I get the message that a problem occured and get the advice to try it later. Other devices can see my phone and get pictures, but pictures shot in portret only show up in landscape. Movies stop as soon as they start (smart tv) or half way (tablet). After two weeks sony support gave me the software repear advice. That does not solve anything. Now sony support just doesn't answer anymore. It's a shame that among 10 devices that I own that work with dlna, the only device that advertices as being dlna certified just isn't working. All other devices, including a ps3, work like a charm. Are these issues adressed in an upcomming software update. I am very sure that this is a software issue.
