lock screen clock delay

hi experiencing a bizarre problem for sometime now.

the time update on the lockscreen clock is delayed. whenever i switch on the phone just to check the time from the lockscreen, the time updates.

i dont know how best to explain or put this in words. will give an example- like just think the current time is 10.30 am. when i switch on the lockscreen i see it stuck at 10.20 am or so then becomes 10.30 am in a second or two.

anybody experiencing similar problem?? it did not happen when i was on gb. kindly anybody care to explain?? is it due to any settings issue?? i tried repair thro sus and also reset of factory settings but no change..

Yup this is one issue or rather a good thing as if the phone keeps updating battery will be used and power consumed so all the services are halted after screen off so that battery is saved. So when the screen in on everything updates instantly

REMEMBER ICS IS A POWER HOG AS COMPARED TO GB

This isn't a bug, this is standard operation on any Android phone.

thanks dragpyre.. its standard on all androids?? really? never knew it..

Because of the new APIs and power management in ICS/JB, some extra steps have been taken to preserve batter life.

This happens on my XPU, XPJ and my Nexus 7.
Its normal. As long as your clock isn't stuck like that forever, its nothing to be concerned about.

ok.. doesnt happen while charging the phone though.. right??

It may still do, due to the performance governor set.
The default is "ondemand", and this can only be changed with root access.

Hi I had the same problem, which really wound me up, espically as I don't have a clock in my bedroom!!

I stumbled across something that works for me. In date time settings, there is a check box that says automatically get date/time from network, this is normally checked. If you uncheck it, the clock still functions normally, but when you wake up in the early hours, there is not the usual 15 second delay whilst the phone fetches the time.

If you turn the phone off/take the battery out, you will need to re-check the box to get time from network, and then un-check it once the time has been downloaded/synced with the handset.

Like I say not ideal, but it works for me.
