Landscape Xperia S with charger gone?

I've noticed something the landscape mode on the homescreen/launcher doesn't work/rotate anymore (to landscape) when the wall charger it's connected, only with the HDMI cable, is this a bug, am I doing something wrong, I already try different firmwares (.50) but I can't figure it out.

Other than applications, nothing has been updated since it randonmly stopped working. I did initially think it may be connected to the update of LiveWare manager/Smart Connect, but i unistalled all updates and it still doesn't rotate.

This was an extremely useful function which i used daily when docking my handset, and i'm pretty annoyed that it has simply stopped working for no apparent reason.

You have just jogged my memory to when the landscape charging stopped and it was the update from liveware to smart connect. I remember it working before i updated that piece of software as there was an error with the first version of smart connect (force close) so they updated it.

I believe landscape charging failed after that point.

I thought so too that it was that app but I'll repair my phone once more with SUS w/o installing any app or game and I'll double check but I'm almost certain that it was disabled on this update

I did a full factory reset to test at what point this stopped working, and it still failed. My girlfriend's handset has a mid update version of smart connect, and i think that's where the function was added and since removed. Her version was 3.3.10 and i think we can't go back that far when uninstalling updates of the app, can't actually remember what version it rolled back to.

I got it to work, just uninstall the updates, I have live manager 3.3.10 and it works now

I also re-update the app and I still have landscape mode while connected to charger (charger must be previously selected)

Ok cheers Uliwooly, thanks for the fix which is to uninstall Smart Connect (which is the update the Liveware).

I now have Landscape charing which means the Smart Connect application disables that functionality.

If I re-install Smart connect I lose the ability to have landscape charging, (and I did try to update whilst my phone was connected to the charger)

As landscape charging is more important to me than Smart Connect I'll just uninstall the update to Smart Connect.

If there is a way to have both working I'll be interested to know how you got it working.

I got both working, once you have liveware > open it and make sure that battery it's selected/on

now while still connected to the wall charger update the app > once you have SmartConnect it should work too (but as soon as you unplug the usb cable it will be gone)

I'm not sure if mine if different but all I have in my list is Headset, Headphones, Charger.

Charger has a green light to indicate thats its active.

Set to alarm & clock (there are not apps for battery):smileyconfused: see attached pic.

If I update the app I still get landscape chagining until I remove and re-insert the charger then its gone forever.

my bad yes that's what I meant charger, and you are right, once you unplug and plug it back it's gone bummer.
