How to make "Album" ignore album artwork images and other folder images

Hello,

How can I get my Gallery or "Album" as its called on the S to ignore some folders with images in, such as album [music] artwork.  I don't want to see hundreds of album covers in my image gallery, nor do I want to see whatsapp images in there.

Anyone know how to sort this?

I believe you need to put a file called .nomedia in the folders you do not want to show up in the Album/Gallery app

OK thanks for the info.  That worked for the Whatsapp media, I just stuck it in the main directory of whatsapp, but its not working for the album artwork in the "music" folder, please don't say I have to put one in every album folder?

Unfortunately, yes you do. The program scans each individual folder for media content and as such you would need to put one in each folder. However I would not advise doing this as this hides all media, not just images so you hide the music as well. As a side note, if you reboot the phone Whatsap will generally bring the images back due to the way it operates.

Sorry for the slow reply, we are quite busy and cannot always answer straight away. Unfortunately this is how it is meant to work; the "nomedia" tick is simply a manual method of tricking the system and will not work in all circumstances with all applications.
