lagging while writing

Hi, had a search of the SP forum but can't see anything like this.

When writing - either text, internet search etc. I seem to get some lagging, so I'll start typing and there will be a momentary pause and the screen will freeze for a second and then if I've typed quickly it'll all seem to catch up with itself - sometimes the word won't be right cause the spell check only picks up the 2nd half of the word (after the lag/freeze). i.e. If I type internet, I could be typing the "I" then the "n" and I'll start pressing the "t" and "e" but it's stopped after the "n", the dictionary will then only pick up from "t" - so it'll spell check "ternet".

I hope that makes sense? and I've explained it well enough, it's quite frustrating, I don't type as quick as some people so to get the lag/freeze is quite annoying and I have to spend time getting rid of wrong (half) words.

I'm using the xperia keyboard and haven't installed any third party keyboard apps or anything like that.

Any help you can give would be great.

How much free RAM do you have? If it is less than 10 % or so, you are overloading your RAM. Stop unnecessary apps in the background like task killers, widgets, Facebook and Twitter.
If your RAM is okay, then try clearing data: Settings - Apps - All - Xperia keyboard - Clear data. I must warn you that this will delete all your preferences for the keyboard and your stored personal words in dictionary. Reboot and then try using the keyboard.

Is it happening on every time or any specific time like when charging or after chargin from computer with data cable or charging feom different charger or connected with different data cable etc...

If it happens only when you connect your phone to a different charger, then that's not a bug. It happens to a lot of phones. Try to use the cable/charger that came with the phone.

Hi,

I've had a look at my RAM and it was running at about 60% - 65% - is this ok? I did stop some of the apps that were unnecessary but didn't really change much - maybe another 1 or 2% extra. I've not had a chance to do the keyboard thing yet, but I'll do that next.

The lag happens when on charge and off charge - no specific times, probably happens nearly every time I write, whether that's a text or twitter etc.

Only have the original charger that it came with - don't have any other ones so can rule that out - thanks.

Will try the keyboard thing and report back.
