Killing apps?

Could somebody please tell me how to totally kill an app on this phone? It's my son's phone, so I don't know anything about it. He says the apps stay running and drain his battery. It's a real pain, please HELP!?

Killing apps its not a good idea, whenever you exit an app press the BACK key until you exit, instead of using the HOME key. Do NOT use taskillers or task managers, this will indeed stop/kill/close the app BUT they will relaunch soon after, thus, draining more battery than just letting run in the background, instead, stay away from: taskillers, task managers, antivirus, ram apps, battery apps, booster apps.

Thanks for responding. So this will actually close the apps so they aren't running in the background? My son said when he uses the back button, it looks the same as when he used to use his 'app killer' to close them.

Android will close apps as it needs RAM and/or as you don't use them, but again, make sure to use the back key and NOT an app to kill them
