after running software update on my phone it no longer recognises my sim

it displays 'insert correct usim'

i have tried another sim and updating software again. still same problem

It may be that your phone was originally locked into a particular network and then unlocked by cable/patch, which only temporarily unlocks the phone as the patch becomes deleted by an update or reset. Did you buy this phone new?

hi. yes you are proabably right. i have brought it second hand and it has planet 3 logo on screen and locked configeration screens which is what i was trying to get rid of. the person i got from had brought it uk. we are in nz. any idea how i can fix situation?
