jack input ignored.

Using jack input to play Spotify in my car. Mid song I put a call on loud speaker, and at the end of the call the music recommenced, but only playing through the phone's speakers, not through the car speakers via the headphone socket. Has happened on multiple occasions. Is it software, hardware or something I've done?
