Invasive malware nightmare.

Hi
My browser keeps opening to a site called top-apps.mobi/d.html at frequent and random times whilst I'm using my phone, it's driving me nuts!
I downloaded malawarebytes to search and an anti-virus prog to dig it out and neither are finding anything wrong.
Is anyone else having an issue like this?
I've tried to do a repair with Xperia companion but it's not letting me fire up the repair program.
I reinstalled the pc software and my phone software is up to date too.
Would my next step be to hit it with a hammer?
Please help....

Thanks for your help, it's not great news but I guess I'll just have to use my phone as a paperweight for the next three days.

I'm sooooo mad at google right now!

What a massive inconvenience!

Hi Ludite,

Are you stuck at the setup screen with the device demanding the original google account for the device?

If so then yes it can be a 72 hour lock out by Google due to a password change, or it could be that the Email account you are putting in is not the very first Google account to be added to this device, if that is the case you need the very original Gmail account in order to start using the device again.

As the original account still has this device connected to it.

I have only had the one Gmail account so it must be the 72 hour farce.

Only 48 hours to go FFS!

I'll check back in on Wednesday night to let you all know if google decides to let me have my phone back.

Thank you all very much for your replies, it's greatly appreciated.  Slightly_smiling_Face
