Invasive malware nightmare.

Hi
My browser keeps opening to a site called top-apps.mobi/d.html at frequent and random times whilst I'm using my phone, it's driving me nuts!
I downloaded malawarebytes to search and an anti-virus prog to dig it out and neither are finding anything wrong.
Is anyone else having an issue like this?
I've tried to do a repair with Xperia companion but it's not letting me fire up the repair program.
I reinstalled the pc software and my phone software is up to date too.
Would my next step be to hit it with a hammer?
Please help....

how about when you are in safe mode?

did you recently installed an app or gave permission to access the internet to an app?

try to reinstall your Xperia Companon software repair using Xperia Companion

@Ludite Those might be simple advertisements or different websites, really annoying I have to agree.

Do a hard reset from the numeric codes available in Google.
And then use the Xperia companion..

Plese try to clean your Browser Cache and your Google Play Store Cache, perhaps this might solve this problem.

No, this is really invasive and causes other apps to stop netflix for example) every 5 minutes and as soon as it stops it will take me to this top-apps advertisement on my browser.

This is effectively earning some grimy little hacker money because he/she is directing me towards an advert.

Hi

I've gone for the reinstall and now have a new set of grief.

I can't sign into my google account on my phone.

I'm putting in my email and then my password, it then says 'checking info' then it says ' please sign in using one of the owner's accounts for this device' and takes me back to the email entry bit, it's just taking me around in circles.
