internal storage shows only 2gb

xperia e has 4gb intenal memory but my phone shows only 2gb .why?

I was just wondering the same thing.

Though the phone has a built in memory of 4GB, only 2GB is allowed for files like photos, music and app data. The rest is reserved for the operating system itself. Take a look at the following threads:
