Internal Memory Issue

My internal memory seems to be corrupted. When I open the menu for Apps in Settings it begins by saying I have 339mb used 41mb free then it recalculates and says I have 271mb used and 109mb free. I try and download updates for my apps but it says I have insufficient space. Sometimes in order to update an app I uninstall and then reinstall. Is there something wrong with my memory? Im currently running ICS.

Have you try first to clean cache of apps?

In second order, you can make a factory reset. So you'll have a much clear system and can start again.

I did try a factory reset and it seemed to help for a while but now the problem is back.
