I've just bought Z3 Compact and it has incorrect moscow timezone (GMT +4) but it should be GMT +3 for now!
System update didn't help. When Sony is going to release hotfix with correct timezones?
I can root my phone and change tz by myself, but in that case I'll loose warranty. So you got me cornered.
It is unacceptable for such company's flagship to have incorrect core software! Please do something with it.
Have you got it selected to use network time or manual and also network time zone?
I've selected to use net time and manually selected wrong tz (Minsk +3). Because if I'd select real tz (wrong MSK +4) and tune time manually UTC in my device would be wrong! I don't want wrong UTC.
If you have chosen to use your providers pushed settings ie:Timezone then it's them that have the issue and not Sony - Sony has nothing to do with setting the time - It's either manually set or done via your provider
You mean provider can (somehow) change system timezones (tzdata)?
If you are using providers timezone and it's wrong then that's not a Sony issue - you either set this manually or use providers settings
Provider can only select timezone (specify what tz should be used in current device location) but information about it (current offset) stores locally and i can get it only with system update (without root permissions). The last system update (which Sony provides) doesn't contain tz update which is up to date (has correct timezone definition)
Well that's wrong - Sony has nothing to do with timezone time corrections or change in time due to summer time changes - This is done by your network provider
