There appears to be some problem with the battery uasge reading with my Xperia arc. When I connect it to power outlet or to computer via USB cable, it always displays "Charged". In reality, the battery is no where near to a complete charge. So far, I have tried the following options with the hopes of setting it proper:
1. Resetting the phone to factory settings
2. Repairing it via the Sony PC Companion software
None of those options worked.
Any thoughts what might be happening. This does not look like an issue with the battery. I purchased a new one 5 months ago.
It's a Sony original battery - BA750.
Other observations:
Removing and inserting the battery after a while does display a near accurate percentage of battery charge available. Here's why I say near accurate:
For instance, assuming the battery charge indicator displays 75% as the remaining charge, consider the following:
Scenario 1: The phone is connected to a power source. The charging happens as expected.
Scenario 2: The phone is kept idle (NOT CONNECTED TO A POWER SOURCE) . The battery charge indicator displays 75%. After about 15 minutes of inactivity, the battery charge indicator would display 77%. This keeps increasing until it reaches 100%.
Scenario 3: The battery charge indicator displays 100%. In reality, this indication is incorrect. The phone is connected to a power source. I do not know if the battery is getting charged up. The phone displays "Charged". The phone is removed from power source. After about 15 minutes of use, phone gets switched off, the reason being no charge in the battery.
Any thoughts on this?
