Normally, I connect my Canon 600d camera via usb cable and adaptor to my phone and import the images from the Canon to my Xperia running lollipop. Suddenly this has stopped working. When I connect the camara, nothing happens. File explorer doesn't detect the camera either. I'm pretty sure this was working with lollipop before.
Nothing at all has changed with the Canon. Canon connects to PC fine, so it's not the usb cable. Thumb drives connect to the xperia via usb adaptor fine, so it's not the adaptor. Must be the xperia. Any clues?
Hi rikmoncur,
Does the Canon device have Bluetooth? If so you may be able to download a Canon application to connect the 2 devices wirelessly to transfer content, this may also help with a direct connection.
Try downloading one of the Canon apps on the Play Store, they may help cater to the function for you.
I tried a diagnostic app that could see the Canon camera and I tried a bunch of camera apps but nothing worked.
Just tried safe mode but still doesn't see the camera.
Thanks for the continuing support.
Update:
just read this on xda forum - "Yep, Sony really messed something up in their Lollipop update. Reading MTP devices via USB-OTG doesn't work. Guess I'll be sticking to KitKat".
