It seems like transferring my images, videos and music to my new micro SDHC card, has damaged them.
Yesterday, I installed my new Sony micro 32 GB SDHC card into my Sony Xperia L. After installing, I used the function "Transfer data to SD card" from the configuration menu. I first choose to transfer images + videos + songs. The transfer was stuck on 73% for a while, but when I checked again, it was done.
Several hours later, when I wanted to view an image, I found it to be broken. In fact, ALL my 470+ images are damaged! They consist of some coloured blocks, but it's no longer distinguishable what was on the image. So I went back to the data transfer menu and saw that I still had the option to transfer data to the SD card: images (only 128 MB left), videos (1 GB+) and music (only the demo music which was on my phone). I choose to transfer only the images, hoping that completing the transfer would fix the problem. Didn't work. I then checked my videos, which were still OK so it seems they hadn't been transferred yet. I then transferred them to the SD card. This transfer was uninterrupted, but still my videos were also damaged once they were tansferred and can no longer be played. Same thing happened to the several songs after transfer. When I play them, they keep skipping to different parts of the song.
Has anyone had the same problem? I'd like to know if the cause is a faulty transfer (although the 2 last transfers were uninterrupted and no error there), a Sony Xperia L bug, a compatibility bug (even though they're two recent Sony products) or a bug in my SD HC problem. If my memory card is faulty, I don't want to risk any more data loss.
My configuration:
Phone: Sony Xperia L
Model: C2105
Android: 4.1.2
Build: 15.0.A.2.17 (latest software installed)
micro SDHC Memory Card 32 GB
Sony SR-32UYA
USH-I
High Speed 40 MB/s
Exact same problem here. Used the same steps as mentioned above, with same result.
Then tried to upload images and mp3 files through PC companion. Files on SD (SR-32UYA) can be read by VAIO laptop, but not by Xperia L. Dis- and re-connected SD, unfortunately without improvement.
Who can help anha and me out???
Very disappointed that Sony's SR-32UYA (32G micro SDHC card) seems not compatible with Sony's Xperia L. Also very frustrating that no one seems to understand why: "they're both Sony, right? ". I especially bought an SD card from Sony to avoid compatibility problems. Surfing the net I read about more issues with Xperia L and transferring data. So maybe the problem is in Xperia L software?
Got a brand new Sony SR-16UY (Made in Taiwan) micro SD as internal memory was getting full. Phone software suggested transferring files, I chose all options, music, photos, videos. It transferred around 3GB of my precious photos, videos and painfully collected songs. After transfer the internal memory got freed up and almost 8 out of 10 files are corrupted. My kids photos are gone, my songs skips or stops in between. The videos don't play.
Totally frustrated. Paid higher price for the Sony microsd when compared to other brands considering that the Sony card would be compatible and tested with Sony phones.
Gosh! didn't take backup too.
When I was a kid Sony products were known for their quality and I used to keep buying them even though they costed more. Shame now.

Just tried recording a new video in full resolution for 1 minutes. Didn't play back beyond the first two seconds. I could copy the video to pc and played using VLC player. The video was choppy with macro blocks every 5 or 10 seconds. Not sure if the memory card is damaged. Have to try the Memory Card File Rescue software from http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=SR16UYATQMN&LOC=3#/howtoTab Desperately trying to get my tour photos and videos back.

No use with the Sony Memory Card File Rescue software. It recovered the corrupted images and videos. Looks like those files were corrupted while storing them in the sdcard in the first time. The likely culprit to be Sony Android file transfer software. Untested piece of buggy code released in to their products.
