I've searched via the search bar and couldn't find an answer. Google doesn't help in this regard so thought I'd ask here.
My Arc S didn't come with a HDMI cable; it's apparently market dependent (though I still got a leather case and screen protector).
I recently bought myself a IM820 (also known as the IM-820) HDMI cable off eBay. The seller was from the UK; I stay away from Hong Kong / Chinese-based sellers due to quite a few negative experiences in the past...
Apart from the fact that it didn't come with any packaging (the plastic bag which has the Sony Ericsson sticker with logo, production date, and the model number), and the cable rather suspiciously looking like a used item, the cable works fine and has tempted me into buying the DK10 dock.
Then I came across another version of the IM820. For those who own the IM820 cable, there is a black tag on the cable with the HDMI logo, followed by either STANDARD or HIGH SPEED. The cable I received has STANDARD on that black tag.
Basically, I was wondering what the difference between the two is? The only (in)significant difference I've noticed between the two versions are the production dates; STANDARD cables are made in 2011 and the HIGH SPEED are made in 2012.
If the difference is something as significant as HDMI standards (eg, 1.1 vs 1.3), then I'll be asking for a refund for sure.

Another cable which I came across eBay:
See the difference in the black tag there? Anyone able to explain what the difference REALLY is? And also, where to get one brand new (with the standard factory plastic bag, to confirm genuine items etc etc).
Thanks in advance.
Bump. Would be very keen on knowing the difference, if any...
I just had a look at the HDMI cable I have here at the office. It says "HDMI STANDARD" on this sticker.
I tried it with both an older Sony Ericsson phone (arc) and a newer Sony phone (Xperia P) and it works fine with both.
I don't have any info about this "High Speed" version though.

Cheers for your help.
Though it doesn't technically answer my question... Which is what the difference between the two types are (if any)?
I've requested this information. I'll get back to you when I have it.

...Eagerly awaiting your reply~~
OK, here we go. As I previously posted I requested more information and this is what I got:
“Standard” marked cable has same performance as “High speed”, the cables function are exactly the same.
The IM820 HDMI cable was first certified to meet “Standard” (up to 720p) specifications. But to meet and fulfill new phone requirements and specifications the HDMI cable was certified for “High Speed” (up to 1080p), but there was no need to make any changes to the product. Hence, the product is the same.
Hope this is satisfying.

That's very satisfying indeed.
Now. I want to buy another cable (one for use at home, the other while out and about). Anyone know of a reliable seller? And maybe with the HIGH SPEED label (yeah there's no difference, but it makes it sound a lot better).
Might try avoiding the eBay seller I bought the current cable off...
