These models almost have the same hardware. My best advice would be that you ask your friend to stop by at a local store so he can hold the phones in his hands and compare them on his own.
Samsung "Whatever_model_fits_in_budget" - they has less bugs in firmwares and more relevant support. In all cases Sorry is not right brand ... This was my first and last product from them.
