Huge battery drain after ICS update

Hello, I have a problem with my Xperia Ray after the ICS update, now the phone drains a huge amount of battery when its just in standby mode.

And one thing, please create a downgrade tool that lets you downgrade to GB again.

I got this advice, on another forum. Should work on stock Rom too, so if you stil have some energi:

It is always a good idea to do the following when updating custom ROMs:

1) Take full backup

2) Wipe cache

3) Wipe dalvik

4) Format system

5) Format boot

6) Install custom ROM

7) Reboot twice

Instead of custom ROM, you use Sony ROM

Doesn't a factory reset (along with selecting the option to clear the SD card) achieve the same result as above? I mean when upgrading (or downgrading for that matter) to a stock ROM?

Factory reset would wipe out everyting including wipe out the Dalvik and other caches, right?
