I need to transfer onto to a computer a PDF file I have received attached to an email in my Mini Pro. Can anyone help? Thanks.
No save option exists. I checked the user guide and found no answer to this.
on your phone download a file manager like OI file manager or Astro file manager, check on your SD Card for a download folder
What I need to know is whether the Mini Pro allows me to record an email attachment to the memory card so that I can later transfer the attachment to my computer. Has anyone ever come across this?
Would anyone know if it is possible to transfer to a computer, using a USB cable, a PDF file attached to an e-mail received on Mini Pro?
Hi there, a file manager like ASTRO (available for free in Android Market) will help you to download Email attachments and save it in your SD Card, which you can transfer to a PC. Alternatively, there is another app called 'Download All Files' (available for free in Android Market) which helps you to do this.
But note that, the availability of these apps depend on the region.
Hope this helps!
I have installed ASTRO but can't seem to save attachments to the SD card. When I go to my e-mail, I can see the attachment icon and I have the option to view the attachment using Adobe, but no option to save using ASTRO. In other words, ASTRO does not seem to have access to the open file on my scree. Any thoughts?
My advice would be to download a third party email app, K-9 or Maildroid are both good and gives you the option of saving the file to your sd card first, once it is saved not just sitting there as an attachment, you should be able to then move it to your computer.
Hi Suze,
I have installed K-9. It loads a first e-mail alright, but no further e-mails. Can you think of a reason why this is happening? I have reinstalled serveral times, but the problems persists.
I figured it out, are you using the Gmail app? if you are it won't allow you to save it on your SD card, if you access your gmail through the browser then tap on the file, it WILL save it on your SD card (Download folder)
To try this out, i sent an email with a PDF attachment to my Gmail. Then, when I hit the 'Preview' button in the Gmail App, i get 2 options:
1) ASTRO Downloader
2) OFfice Suite Viewer (as i have installed it)
when i selected the first, a dialog box opens asking you whether you want to save the PDF. if so, next comes an option to enter the name with which you want to save the attachment. It was all good. it downloaded my attachment to the download folder itself.
Also, in your ASTRO app, press Menu (hard key) -> More -> Preferences -> check this option: Enable Browser Download
Let me know if you are able to get through this.
