How to disable Setup Assistant?

The setup assistant autostarts every time shortly after I repowered the phone, although I have already completed it a couple of times. How do I disable it terminally?

I concur - No Sim will do this

Hi Nico83,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Do you by chance run the battery completely flat and then charge and then turn it on and get the setup assistant?

If the handset is without power for an extended period of time, and I mean completely flat, it will reset the handsets defaults such as time and date etc.

Let us know if any of the solutions have worked so far.

@Jake-SonyXperiaSupport: No, the phone was fully charged.

@Danial-mach1: Although I am pretty sure that I had completed the setup guide a couple of times already, I tried starting it manually via the menu once more. I don't know whether this was the reason, but the popup message seems to be gone since then.

If this issue reoccurs I will tell you.

OK, update:

last night my phone crashed whilst on the charger. I had to physically remove the battery this morning in order to be able to boot it again.

After the boot, the setup assistant notification appeared again - I did not complete it but cancelled it right away, and it kept gone this time and did not show up again and again as above.

However, this time the phone book setup guide (import contacts from SIM, setup sync with PC etc.) showed up multiple times after I tried to access the phone book directly after reboot, although I ticked on the button "Ready".

Very strange behaviour of the phone, and I was not able to reproduce the above mentioned behaviour by manually removing the battery a second time.

So you didint get any setup guide after that?and guide for phone book just gone after ticked ready?

Yes, the setup assistant kept gone right after the first time.

After I repowered it afterwards (took out battery) on purpose the setup assistant kept gone, the phone book assistant showed up one more time, but kept gone ever since.

Strange things happening in this world...
