WARNING: Here be dragons. I don't work for SE but was surprised that my Arc S came with some apps that you cannot remove without rooting your device. Seeing as internal memory space is already a bit limited I decided to root so I could run the wonderful Titanium Backup app and remove the stuff I had no interest in. I'm posting this in case others wish to do the same but I accept no liability if you remove something important and your phone crashes or won't boot. If you do screw it up then you should be able to use the PC Companion tool to restore the stock image.
FWIW I have an Xperia Arc S running the .42 firmware image.
Your mileage may vary but I went from 320MB or storage to 420MB. Any my device feels snappier and I bet my battery life is better without running extra services.
There is a more comprehensive list to be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089470
Exercise caution and if you're not sure then you can use the Freeze option in Titanium Backup to stop the app from running without deleting it.
REMEMBER TO BACK THESE APPS UP BEFORE YOU USE THE UN-INSTALL OPTION!

With one clikroot
I get
failed to copy 'files superuser.apk' to '/ system / app /. / superuser.apk' read-onlyfile system
ADB driver installed fine (devicemanager)
I just want to make ROOT without burning a new or old ROM
someone may help me?
Firmware 0.62 can not be rooted. [4.0.2A.0.62]
To root you need to downgrade to either on Firmware 0.42 or 0.58
Or you can update to ICS [If available to your region and device] then root also.
2.3.4 4.0.2.A.0.42 (LT15i/a & LT18i/a)
2.3.4 4.0.2.A.0.58 (LT15i/a & LT18i/a)
will this affect warranty?
Can I also use the root function in flashtool to root my xperia mini? I am hesitant to try it cause I'm afraid I might brick my phone.
Ang BTW "zergRush Exploit" rooting kit, this is automatically deleted by my antivirus so I cannot use this tool for rooting
You can try this simple method: http://www.androidust.com/single-click-root-for-xperia-arc-s-ics-4-0-4-with-unlocked-bootloader/
For me R2R is probably the one feature I like the most about my phone. It is the "Internet Settings" that you can find under system settings/xperia, which downloads the APN and MMS information of your provider. If you always use the same provider and same SIM you can live without it. I travel a lot and in each country I buy a prepaid SIM and this feature saves me from having to look up the relevant APN, complete the settings manually, etc. I strongly recommend keeping this.

Good to know that once the phone is rooted there are tremedous opportunities. The latest news being, Xperia ARC S getting Jelly Bean update via CM10, It is a custom ROM and is a bit risky. http://www.androidust.com/get-jelly-bean-cm10-rom-on-xperia-arc-s/
