How do you download internet settings?

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased and unlocked a Z3, put my sim in and everything works fine excpet I h ave no data. Oddly I can check my email and stuff but can't go online or google play or anything else.

I think it's because my Access Point Names havent been set up but I can't seem to figure out how to download them automatically.

When I first started up the phone there was a section in the setup to download your internet settings, I swear I hit yes but maybe I just hit next? Regardless, I looked through Sony's support doccumentation and you're supposed to be able to just go to Settings>more>Internet settings. Ther problem here is that there is no "internet Settings" option, I'm guessing it was removed in recent updates.

Not sure hwat to do now, I've tried to find that setup wizzard but can't find it anyhwere, either it gets deleted after setup or it's named something weird/hidden very well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Dave33,

Welcome to community.

The option was not removed, no. There are variations in the firmware depending on region and operator, it may differ.

If the option is not there, contact your network and ask them for assistance in setting up your APNs manually.

Hi CameronT,

Thank you for the reply. Is there no way to access it? It did ask me when I first started the phone so the functionality must be there it's just hidden.

I'm in Canada, have the phone updated to latest firmware. My service provider has terrible customer service, you sit there and wait on hold for 1-2 hours (literally) I'd really rather not go through that.

I found a Setup Wizzard app under system apps but for some reason there is no way to launch apps from settings>apps on this phone so I can't launch it.'

I guess I could factory reset but I'd rather explore all other options first.

@Dave33,

Who is your network provider?

You may be able to find the settings online.

You can enter them in under Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names (or APNs)
