How do i extract a still photo from a video ?

On my HTC One M7... i could playback video and while it was playing i could click on the photo button and it would grab a photo from the video..

how the heck do i do this on my Z1 Compact ????

I've found some really shltty apps on Google Play which more or less all want to throw ads to my face , rather than provide the needed feature...

So i wonder if Sony already put this feature on the phone, or what app would be the best to get to get this feature ?

I did a Play store search for Video image capture and found these for your consideration

You can use mx player or vlc player out of these and get this done.

I have VLC but couldn't find a function to save the frame ??

doing a screen capture also doesn't work because the video goes into pause mode. 

Will try MX

My current solution was to sync the video with Dropbox, then on the Computer use "Media Player Classic - Home Cinema Edition" - where i can navigate per frame and save it using [ALT + I] or through menu.

BS player could do this on computer,not sure about android app.
