hi.. date and time does not sync with network

hi.. my phone hanged for a minute and i was forced to remove the battery to make it boot again. when i restarted, my phone automatically set the date and time to 5.30 am, janury 1, 2000. automatic update of time and date in settings is checked, it does not help. i changed the date n time manually but it doesnt sync with network anymore and battery drain is faster after this incident.

what to do?? anybody?? jatin.. uliwooly.. sam, petter..

sony is full of bugs and shit.. cant even develop one software properly. fuck u asshole sony developers.. my first and last sont product ever.

Try to remove both battery and SIM and put it back together again. These times updates come from the operator networks. Remember that removing the battery will reset the time settings.

You should also check with your network operator which of their network that supports this.

I am not sure since I never have needed to this myself, but isn't it possible to reboot by pressing and holding the volume up key and the power key for 5 seconds?

As Johan said removing battery resets the time,

Just in case, check whether your Airplane Mode is Off or On.

@johan- its not network issue since i have been using the time n date sync since the time i have had nokia smartphones.. and the sync did not happen only this time. i did remove battery and sim both but no use.. i had to repair using sus then it is working again.

@eleffay- nothing worked.. i had to manually remove the battery then reinsert it to get my phone to work. then this problem started.

@abhishek- airplane mode was off.. i never use it.

so basically if my phone hangs, do i have to reinstall ics everytime to make it work properly??
