Help needed, Xperia Sola shuts down after SIM Card is inserted.

Hello guys. Help needed here.

I am a Xperia Sola MT27i user from Malaysia. I had been using this phone since October 2012 and it was performing well up to my needs.

Last night, when I was engaged to a phone call, my Xperia Sola shuts down automatically. I tried to restart the phone but once I key in my SIM Card passcode, the phone shuts down again. I repeatedly trying to switch on the phone but every single time I key in my SIM Card passcode, it shuts down.

Next, I removed the SIM Card and tried to switch on the phone and it was running perfectly FINE, without the SIM Card! I was able to connect to the WiFi, all apps running well, view photos and play music, just like how it was before.

Thus, I assumed that the phone is alright and again inserted the SIM Card and tried to start up the phone. Again the problem comes, once I entered my SIM Card passcode, the phone auto shuts down, without any warning or message, the screen just go blank. Tried for another 5 - 6 times but my attempts ended in vain.

To reconfirm, I took out the SIM Card and switch on the phone again and EVERYTHING is 100% fine!

In addition to this, i would like to make it clear that :
-my SIM Card works fine with other handphones and that
-inserting other SIM Cards into my Xperia Sola ended up with the same result.

Moreover, the Xperia Sola works perfectly fine WITHOUT a SIM Card.
it also works perfectly fine if
-I did not key in my SIM Card passcode and let it be in SIM Card LOCKED Mode.
-and perfectly fine in FLIGHT Mode

Please help. I am really anxious and frustrated regarding this issue.

Get a brand new SIM card

Mr.uliwooly, really thanks for the reply, but friend, my SIM Card works perfectly fine on another two devices (my friends' Xperia E and Nokia N), and when I inserted their SIM Card into my Xperia sola MT27i, the same problem occurs!

However, once they inserted their own SIM Card into their own phone, everything is perfectly fine!

Is it really a SIM Card problem?

Any friends here encountered the same problem? Please help! I really need help!

LOL! Here's a "rough" suggestion (lame theory)...

Remove your SIM card and turn on the phone
Make sure the phone is booted up completely and is not in Flight mode
Open up the back cover and INSERT the SIM card even the phone is on
Your phone should restart and works normally

The "theory" here is that Xperia sola supports some hotswap SIM function (something I need someone to explain or I find more info later)...
