Hmm if your phone got wet today, open all the flaps and look for the little white tab hidden in each which if the phone got wet and water has managed to seep inside when you 'washed' the device, should be pink and unmistakable. This will pretty much confirm you've done some damage. If there isn't any pink strips well then your lucky and you might be able to get away with reseting the phone doing something similar to what you've been doing.
Press and Hold the volume Up key and Power button at the same time, for 5 seconds or until you get a vibration and the phone should automatically restart. If this doesn't fix your issue, I would try restoring your phone using a back up file hopefully you've kept using the PC companion software. If you haven't....then a complete repair might be in order. Use SUS or PC companion to do this.
