I am experiencing a problem with my headset and audio routing to headset. This has been raised earlier, but there is no answer or solution given to this (such as any software update or such).
When I plugin my earphones (that came with the phone), phone does not recognize the earphones nor routes the audio to the earphones.
If I want the audio to be routed to earphones, I need to restart my phone, with the earphone connected. When I do this, all audio is routed only to earphones, even phone audio and nothing is routed to external speaker.
If this effect needs to be reversed, I have to again restart the phone, this time without the earphones connected to audio socket.
The earphone used has come with the phone itself.
This has started happening suddenly, with no change being done on the phone which may have caused this.
Please help on what needs to be done so that it behaves normally (recognizes earphones, and directs audio to earphone when connected, directs audio to external speaker when earphone is not connected, and does not require restart to switch between these two)

You may factory reset your phone or disable the Live Manager. Insert headset fully into the phone. See what happens.
Else get your phone replaced!
Changing Live Manager setting did not help. I am not sure if Factory reset / SW update to latest version would help or not, however, most importantly, whethre any such changes shouldn't put my phone out of warrant for attempting something on my own. Need guidance from Support personnel, whether software update (notification sent on the phone or one that keeps popping up on PC Companion) is acceptable from warranty point of view.
I recommend that you first update/repair the phones software using PC Companion. This will not void your warranty.
To repair the phone, start PC Companion without connecting the phone, select Support Zone, Software update and then click the repair phone option.
Note that repairing the software will reset the phone.
If that doesn't help i suggest you contact a local service location for assistance.
I was not sure on the support warranty validity if I tried updating the software on my own using PC Companion and if the software update failed for any reason. Hence I contacted local support and they did it for me.
