Headset Compatibility issue

I just bought the Sennheiser M2 IEG headset wich says should work on Sony smartphones

but when i got them yesterday and tried them the middlebutton for answering calls etc. wont work it just raises the volume instead.

Is it so that Sony use some kind of other standard in the headphone jack?

I have the same issue but with "sennheiser cx 5.00g". Same thing, middle button just raises the volume... Sennheiser says it's supported by Sony smartphones?

Just bought cx 5.00 for my z3 and very dissappointed that it is not fully supported!

Just bought the CX 5.00G headphones and I have the same problem with the remote on my Xperia Z2 phone. Has anyone figured out a solution yet?
