Headphone issues

Hey Guys, So I'm having a slight issue, the headphones i'm using (or anything other headphone or aux cords) will not work with my phone, only the sony headphones will work with the phone for some reason, I was reading on the forum that it was because of Smart Connect, I was curious if anyone knew if i could fix this problem, I have an iPod so i use its headphones when I want to watch a youtube video or shows on my phone. please help thanks.

What if you try the following:

Settings > Apps > All > Smart Connect > Clear data/cache > Force Stop > Restart the phone.

Also, contact your local Sony Xperia Care related the compatibility of your headphones and Z1.

It seems that Iphone(or other apple products earphones) have compatibility problems and they do not work in several cases.
