Having problems with Sony Xperia Tipo Dual upper n rear speaker

Hey,

Im really confused, my Xperia Tipo Dual upper speaker is not working (when i call someone i cant hear anything, so i have to turn on speaker). Till last night everything was perfect, when i woke up next morning i faced this. More over when i played music, there was no sound from rear speake (earphones are working perfectly). But ringtones are working, i mean when i select them i can hear sound. This so confusing. I have done factory reset n plus reinstalled software using PC Companion; still nothing has solved. PLEASE HELP!!!

Could you tell me which firmware version you are on?
I know there were echo problems in the previous updates, which have been fixed in the most recent updates given by Sony. You might want to check if you've got an update available.

Also, try an 3rd-party app, like skype, check if the main speaker works with one of those apps.
If not, wait for a Sony support analyst or visit a Sony service center.

im using 4.0.1 and this the latest update up till now.

Today automatically everything got back to normal. Both speakers are working fine. idk what happened.

Glad to hear that the problem is solved.

If you should notice this again, make sure there's no dirt in the 3.5mm port. Sounds like the phone thought a headset was connected.

Hi,

I'm having exactly the same problem with my phone for the last couple of days.

The upper speaker does not work, only the rear speaker is working properly.

I've tried plugging and unplugging the ear phones, and it still doesn't work.

This morning it was working perfectly, and now its back as it was, and i haven't used the ear phones or anything.

Could someone help me?

Hey all,

I'm experiencing the same exact problem on my Xperia Tipo Dual.

For about a week now, both upper and rear speakers became mute whenever I played music. I'm also unable to hear anyone and I can't be heard unless I use a freehand or turn the speaker on.

I've performed power cycles several times which used to do the trick but now it's no use.

Additionally, I hit the play button on my music player widget and the music sounds only occasionally. Last time it sounded, it suddenly became mute while playing.

No other music player sounds either.

No sound on a video played from internet
is heard.

I can hear the phone ringin, though.

My Sony PC Companion displays my phone is up to date so I'm actually wondering how could I possibly have this fixed.

Even I m also experiencing the same issue. Suddenly today morning everything stopped working. Oh god!! It's so irritating. This people should reply but they are just ignoring our problems.

I'm also having the same problem with my phone.I have visited the service centre many a time but this problem again reoccurs after 3-4 weeks.
