Hard reset Xperia Z

I have had my Z1 for two months, yesterday the phone started to freeze. I am unable to do anything with the phone. I have used the function of holding down power button and the volume key to unfreeze it, but as soon as it boots up, after approx 60 secs it flashes, the screen goes blank and it is unusable again. I have seen the reset red button under the waterproof flap, and again tried this but after the initial reset the same fault happens. It keeps going round and round in a loop of freezing and resetting, the battery and phone are getting hot to touch. I have tried to do a factory reset but again to no avail, it will not let me. I have tried to plug it into my computer to see if I can reset it and unfreeze it that way, but again to no avail.  Even when the phone is in safe mode I am unable to reset it, as it keeps crashing.I took it into EE shop today and they have said it appears to be a system fault.

Is there anyway or doing a factory reset by using a combination of holding down the keys? or is there a way of resetting the phone in under 60 secs, as that appears to be the longest time it is functional before having to force a soft reset?

any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Connect the phone to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let your phone charge for 2 or 3 hours > repair it with SUS

HI Uliwooly,

i have downloaded the SUS and managed to update and factory reset the phone. Unforunatley this has not resolved the issue, the phone is still unable to open and function fully, it still keeps flashing black and then freezing. I think this will have to go back to Sony.

Does anyone know the best contact details for arranging a phone to be sent back in the UK? As mentioned previously this is not even two months old, and i am dissapointed that a phone of this nature has such an epic failure so soon. have there been many issues or recals on this device?
