Group Texting

Anyone else not receiving group texts through the stock messaging system that comes on the T-Mobile US version of the phone? Also, when I try to send one, it sends to everyone individually.  Is there an option to turn this on? I have another app that will do it, but I actually like the look and feel of the stock messaging program and would like to continue to use it.

The default messaging app* supports group texting but it must also be supported by the network.

Will Sony ever support group texting in the stock app? Android 4.2.2 supports it but Sony did not include it in the Xperia zl update. Can you guide me on where I can go to complain about this? I hate using third party apps to group text, a bunch of lag with those apps.

I dont think it has to do with the network. With my previous phone (same network), when i send group text, it goes as individual, but saved in my phone as group. so if i need to send again, i send to the group. But with xperia z1, it saves on my phone as individuals and not group. so if i need to send again, i have to add all the numbers. I got out of this by creating a group in contacts, but i dont want to always do that. is there a setting to change? thanks

Please tell me this is a joke! This phone works underwater and has a bunch of fancy gadgets but wont group text messages together???? I need to be able to communicate with folks with different service providers and their answer is to use hangouts? Returning phone tomorrow.
