Hi there,
Since the last software update to my Xperia Arc I have been having problems with the GPS. Phone model is LT15a and sondroid version is 2.3.4.
Anyways, when I first power up the phone I will be able to connect to the GPS satellites, determine location, etc. for about a minute or two then the GPS signal is lost and I am unable to reconnect until I reboot the phone and the cycle repeats itself. Occassionally the GPS signal will remain for an extended period, hours, but not very often. I note there have been other posts regarding the GPS signal being lost every five minutes, but my issue does not seem the same. Essentially, once the GPS signal is lost, it is lost until I reboot the phone, then it is only present for about a minute or two. I have the GPS Test as well as the GPS Essentials apps and so I can clearly see when the signal is present and when it is lost. As far as progrms that access GPS are concerned I have Google Maps, Latitude, Moostrax, My Tracks, GPS Test.
If anyone has any ideas or if the good folks at Sony could help, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Barry
You use data traffic ON?
If not perhaps your problem is a combination of two thing
"the bug of 5 minutes"
and something else
do you observed this with the previous builds, like for example 3.0.xxx.145?
Make sure you have a working data connection, just like maRRRco suggested.
Try to connect via both 3G and WiFi to see if it behaves differently.
Could you please post your build number? Settings > About phone > Build number.
Hi all,
As it turns out, one of my applications "Moostrax" was taking control of the GPS function. I turned Mossetrax off and everything is fine now.
Thanks,
Barry
