GPS problem

The GPS position is not very accurate (see map below, red is the track I followed, blue the recorded track in Endomondo)   phone is placed with a free view to the sky.

I have updated the software (last week) but that did not solve the problem.

Is it a hardware problem??

Hi Hobie, thanks for your answer.

So the GPS problem definitely seems to be a hardware problem. Well, my phone is brand new, and I'm not going to the warranty dept, while I still have the option of returning it to shop for free.

Like someone else posted in another GPS topic here, I just left my phone stationary, and it "traveled" for miles in half an hour. And it cannot get a straight track at all, which completely spoils my use of the phone as a cycling tracker.

Shame. This makes me hesitant to buy any future Sony hardware again. And I will not recommend this brand to anyone. Samsung, yes. Buy a GSIII if you have the money. GPS fix in 2s, extremely accurate.

Btw, I'm very curious what Johan (Sony Support), had to say in his PM to Claus.

Btw2: why is this topic "assumed answered". It's not.

Hi Johan

I just bought a SONY Experia GO, seal not brooken yet and I will return it if you can't confirm the GPS issue to be sloved.

I have upgrated from ACTIVE it coundn't reboot five weeks ago and had to go to Sweden for recreation for almost two weeks. Yesterday it did it again, so I refused repair and got the money back. I need a phone, for calls, SMS, calendar, navigation, photos at work and in my kayak and sailing boot.

Have a nice day, hope you call clear the wolf cry.

Well I better return my SONY Xperia Go then. Look nice but if I open it and the GPS don't work

I'm in trouble. I could run my sail boat a ground trusting a failing GPS at night or fog, don't dare. Sorry Ericsson you are on your own.

So Now I have a phone with NO GPS, WIFI and WARRENTY. (In my country there isn't any official service centre)

Mom isn't gonna buy me another phone in months.

How cool is that, Sony?

I am thinking about  buying this phone for my bike rides in chicago,il .  I am a cat 3 racer and I am hoping to get to 2 by the end of the road season. TOO BAD sony can't get their ducks in the row.

They have

1) Replaceable battery

2)Rugid Design

3)Water resistance (shower factor)

4) ANT+ native

So I am going to sit on this a week and see what happens ... maybe they will get a drift ...

Correction, the Go does not have replaceable battery and does not support ANT+, so look elsewhere
