GPS problem

The GPS position is not very accurate (see map below, red is the track I followed, blue the recorded track in Endomondo)   phone is placed with a free view to the sky.

I have updated the software (last week) but that did not solve the problem.

Is it a hardware problem??

Try to purge assistance data for the GPS and check if you get the same results.

You can purge the data in the service menu of the phone.

Enter *#*#7378423#*#* > Service test > GPS.

You should also check if your get the same results from other tracker app's.

I tried to purge the data as descriebed but that did not help.

I also checked another software program: yesterday I tracked a sailed distance in Navionics. I sailed in a a straight line from North to South  - the track was anything than straight (see below).

I seem to have the same problem, very inaccurate GPS. I have purged the assistance data, but it still remains. I use the Strava app to record my bike rides, but because the GPS drifts a lot from the actual route, I can't even ride any Strava segments. I really hope ICS will fix this, if not, the main reason for buying this phone for me (all-weather sports phone) is gone.

Have you seen my post, where I put

Well GPS is worse not better, with GB phone had 20 satelites in view and 12 in use and with ICS only 11 in view and 4 in use pathetic, my son has xperia S with ICS and has 25 in view and 15 is use and indoors he has 22 in view and 11 in use, xperia Go has 11 inview and none in use for indoors.

I know different chipset, as I want the phone for satnav ICS is useless as is the phone, so I think I'll flash back to GB, though I do like ICS but GPS is deal breaker

I'm thinking of returning my Go because of this, while I still have the legal possibility (within certain time frame after internet buy, Dutch Law).

I tested today with GB, only 4 of 11 sats in use, I dont understand why. And it takes very long to get a fix. My SIII performs so much faster (2 s for fix).
