Google Play Remote Install

Hi,

I bought a C4 last week. I've been trying to use Google Play Remote Install (installing apps via play.google.com from a browser, using the Google account) but i keep getting a message that says "You dont have a registered device". It's weird, since i'm able to download apps from the Google Play app from the phone, and Google Device Manager recognices my device. I tried contacting Google Support, and they couldn't identify the problem, so i started wondering the posibility that there may be some kind of incompatibility with this device in particular.

I tried many "solutions", like cleaning the Google Play app cache, and login out and in again, and neither of them worked. Any of you guys could confirm the fact that remote installation is working with this device?

Hi,

You say that you are able to download apps from Google Play with the phone, but have you downloaded any apps yet?

Yes, I have, but using the Google Play app, from the phone.

I'm used to download the apps via play.google.com, and remote installing them; but i'm having trouble with my new C4.

Remove the google account from your C4 > restart the phone > add the Gmail account > check again.

I did that, still getting the same message. I also tried restoring to factory, and that didn't work either. I'm confused.
After the restore, when I open the Google Play app in the menu I now have an option that says "My Work Apps" (o something like that I assume, since I'm using it in Spanish) instead of the one that said simply "My apps". Is this normal?

It sounds like your Gmail account is used/connected as Google for Work. As a test, could you remove this Google account from your phone > Restart the phone > Create a new Gmail account (can be done directly in your phone when you add an account) and login to the new account instead > Download an application. You can then go to play.google.com and login to the new account that you've created and see if you can download apps from the browser.

Note that, it can take some minutes before your device appears via the browser.

Still no luck.

I guess I wont be remote-downloading apps anymore.

Thanks anyway

I have exactlly the same problem. I can't install apps remotely from my computer because the C4 doesn't show up as one of of my devices at Google Play. Ironically it did show up for a few hours the first day I owned the phone, then it disappeared for good. Also at the Google Play Store on the phone instead of listing My Apps the listing is for my Work Apps.

I have come to the conclusion that this is some kind of issue or bug with the C4, since every other phone I have owned doesn't have this problem. By the way I spent about 3 hours on the phone with someone from Google Play support and they were unable to resolve the problem.
