Gmail app doesnt sync an emails on time

Hello All,

the issue is that Gmail app doesnt sync an emails on time.

When the email arrives to the main mailbox Gmail app doesnt catch it even ater 2 hours of waiting. I tried to tap sync button manually but didnt help. It may arrive in the evening or later... but I can not wait because use this mobile mailbox to trace my business emails. Now I have 4 new emails in my gmail mailbox and nothing arrived to Sony Xperia Z Gmail application.

How to resolve this very disappointing mess?

I will do it and yes, I ave Avast anti virus. The question is do I need to install and have this anti virus or is it not necessary?

antivirus is not required on android at the moment - these phones are very well locked down - were this may become an issue is if the phone is rooted, even then it is still resonably secure

antivirus programs themselves have little if nothing to do on Android OS they simply take up resource and cause problems while they pretend to do something - get rid of it

Ok. Good to know. I unitstalled Avast. Will see how Gmaill app will work after. Do you know good app which can lock and trace the phone in case if it is stolen?

I've only been involved in Anroid for about 3 weeks now so I'm learning - my first android phone

the same here, before was with blackberry which is annoying.
