Gapless Playback

Hi,

I have just bought the Xperia Z3 compact phone and cant find how to set my DJ mix albums to gapless playback. it says on some websites that the newer versions of the walkman app supports gapless playback but i cant find how to set this up. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

A request for this feature has been forwarded to the Sony developers so it's a case of wait and see

As a big company in Hi-Fi that promote Hi-res audio it's incredible that Gapless playback isn't fixed a long time ago since apps like Neutron and PowerAmp can. Anguished_Face

I completely agree. It's annoying, ridiculous and embarrassing.

Well I think the latest update to Walkman 8.5.A.3.3 broke Gapless playback because I remember perfectly that previous to that I was able to play certain albums just fine without interruptions...

Also I know this thread should go under the Walkman section, so please mod move apropriately. Anyway hopefully this feature is fixed once again... it is not vital for me but it is really welcome...

And as a tiny reminder, please add the option to Queue whole artist, just like we are able to queue albums, songs and playlist

UPDATE... The newest Beta release of the Walkman (Music) app fixes Gapless playback again. I joined the tester and the app is looking very good, hopefully the developers hear us with the many request that people are asking, so this becomes better and better.

I claim that there is still no gapless playback support in the newest Walkman (now Music) app. Furthermore, I asked the tech support about when or whether they would add it to the app, but the answer was, that they even didn't know! So, that's how the priorities for Sony looks like: new design, buttons and the app name rebranding first, and then MAYBE the functionality next (someday). Although, the cheap low-end phone I bought as a support phone, has the gapless playback support on the stock music player and it runs Android 4.1
I strongly believe that it's a pure shame for the respected company which actually managed to design such phone as Z1 Compact which I have, and it actually sounds better than the iPhone I used to have before, but the only problem is the lack of the gapless playback! Although I have seen this feature has been added to the change list of the Walkman app even before I bought this phone, but imagine the disappointment when I unpacked and tested it and the gaps were still there Slightly_frowning_Face

I know this is an old thread, but I've had this issue and solved it th s weekend. I downloaded and tested aboit 10 music players and found one that actually does true gapless playback: Neutron. I'm just testing the free version at the moment. So far .wav are seamless, while mp3's sometimes are seamless, but often pop, like all the other players do.
