Frustrated from the camera compression!!

i hate to say but its a big dissapointment that a 5mp cam is taking a 700-800kb shots.. what the hell is this?

is SONY doing anything about it ??

please tell me this compression thing will not be there in upcoming updates?

I payed for 8 megapixel camera but got ~3 of them if other cheaper phones didnt take better pictures i wouldnt complain!
I am waiting a fix until i get my next phone and for now I am Unhappy for this waist of money
since my main goal from buying this was to have good camera in my pocket wherever i go
but hope we all get our fix

ahh dont worry now .. ICS will be coming by the end of next month and we all r hoping to get this issue solved

Seems ICS has reduced the compression.

The pictures now are 2.3 Mb large from what xda guys say.

And better quality at all

hmm well can you ask him to post some sample pics so that we can compare ...also provide the link where he said this

Try ICS camera app..it has an option to select the compression!

we dont have ICS on our phone yet

Guys I said this before,try camera ICS this app works in 2.3.4 and it has an option for compression
