I have a Sony Xperia M phone, it is an Android smartphone. I have never had a problem with Snapchat but just a couple of weeks ago I launched the app and tried to record a video using the front camera but a message appeared on the screen saying "video recording failed" and instead took a picture. Once it had taken a picture, I noticed the quality looked different and pixelated. I then launched my normal camera app on my phone and switched on my front camera to discover that it was completely normal, not pixelated at all, so this front camera problem only occurs when using Snapchat.

If anyone has any ideas on what could be causing this or any solutions you know of, please do let me know because I love using my front camera on Snapchat to share what I'm doing with my friends.

Thank you!
Holly.

The front camera is VGA,what do you expect? You won't get too great shots in low light.

Hahaha alex,cool down.

Yeah its VGA,but the screen protector also affects the quality.

VGA cameras are great(just satisfying,at least, its there) under low light, but its rather acceptable when using it under broad daylight. And the vid, just horrible both bright and dark sitch.

VGA it's only 0,3mp so you need a enough light to get a picture with front camera. if you try in low light place don't hope if you can see your face in your camera Grinning_Face
