For how long can you record video on your Z5?

Hello fellow Z5 users,

Could you please try to record video in 1080@60fps on internal sdcard and report back with the ambient temperature, the times the overheat warning shows up and when the camera stops by itself? Also state your os version.

No need to try this for more then 10 minutes. But still report back if no overheat in 10 minutes.

Many thanks

About 6 to 8 Minutes. Device stopps because of overheating. Camera stopps and warning is shown. Imagine you want to film the first steps of your children and your mobile has to cool down. Ok you could tell them that they have to wait until your phone has the right temperature sure they wait and understand ´cause it´s not a trick...

This might not be the way to go, as if you live in a cold area and you don't have a lot apps/games running, good network coverage, you could record a lot longer than in a warmer area

@Filip42

The phone won't overheat, it will shutdown before it overheat

Hehe..this is similar to what happened to me last Saturday. I was actually filming indoors, air conditioned room, ~25C, some show of my child in 60fps when the camera shuts down by itself in less then 5 minutes. I have tested it at various ambient temperatures since, the camera lasts between 2 and 5 minutes at 25-28 degrees Celsius

Thanks, in all these tests that I tried from cold it didn't matter the airplane or safe mode. I even flashed 2 different .224 roms hoping to get better results. So far, this camera stoppage time seems to be only a function of ambient temperature.

I just wanna know how it compares to other z5 cameras in warm climate.

Full HD 60fps, ambient temperature 20 celsius managed 18 minutes before camer app stops itself down. 4K manage to record for 14 minutes before same happened.

For me it's more than I need so no complaints here.

 @uliwoolyCome on, the phone is getting much too hot and it turns off because of the heat. No matter you or I call this "too hot for progressing" or "overheating". It doesn´t work correct because of heating problems... ok?

There are some tools to measure the temperature and  it´s about 55 to 60°C after camera shuts down, just for information. For kids too hot to hold!

Vodafone managed a change of my z5 c. My second device is a little better, camera lasts in HD at 60 fps 2-5 minutes longer. But it´s getting hot too-
