Flickering screen - reboot needed

Got my phone for a few weeks now and I really feel bad about my transfer from Xperia Arc to Xperia SP.

This is why:

  • Internal speaker volume extremely low - can't barely hear people when they call me, even in a quiet room.
  • Bluetooth issue: bluetooth disconnects when playing music on my Sony SRS-BTX500 . When connected with NFC even more disconnects. More stable when manually activated bluetooth instead of NFC.
  • Glove Mode automatically activated (happens now and then without any reason)
  • Several Mobile Settings (which network to use, mobile data desactivated, ...) change automatically now and then.
  • Suddenly no data at all, although Wifi & 3G are active.
  • Keyboard does not always appear when it should. (tried with Swiftkey and stock)
  • Camera quality is worse, compared to my 2 years old Xperia Arc

And last but not least:

  • Flickering Screen: now and then the phone's screen starts flickering. Nothing I can do but reboot the pone. Sometimes this also happens when charging, I pick up the phone (very hot !) and when I unlock it, it's flickering and I need to reboot. Battery drains very fast at that time as well.
  • Unable to open apps: when opening an app, it shows part of the first screen, and closes after 2 or 3 seconds. Reboot needed to fix this.
  • Sometimes it automatically opens all apps that are still active in background. I can't interfere, it opens one app after another, chronological but backwards... Very strange... reboot needed as well.

Tried this: About 10 resets to factory. No own apps installed, still issues. Stamina and automatical brightness disabled, phone is up to date.

Really, I'd rather nog send my phone to you guys and miss it for a few weeks, but I'm rather desperate by now...

Is there any hope for me that these problems can or will be fixed by new firmware update, or should I just throw this very bad performing Xperia away ?

With the flickering screen have you tried deselecting the auto-brightness?

I had a similar issue & found this solved it!

Good luck

Get the phone replaced. Or try to fix with PCC. That should help IMO

Tnx Sarkar1990.

What exactly do you mean by "fix it with PCC" ? PCC = PC Companion ? How can this help me with these issues ?

I recommend that you first try updating/repairing the phones software using PC Companion found here: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/. Start PC Companion without the phone connected and go to Support zone -> Software update -> repair but please note that your phone will be reset.

If that doesn't help you need to contact a service location or local Sony Xperia support (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/) for help.
