Flashmode/fastboot mode drivers

Hello,

I'm having trouble getting my computer to recognize the device when it is connected in flash mode/fastboot mode.

I have Windows 8 and I already fixed the problem with the driver signature. But even after installing the drivers my computer still doesn't recognize my device. I seriously doubt I'm using the wrong drivers since I've tried the drivers from 3 different sources, but if anyone thinks that I am using the wrong ones please give me a link to the ones that should work.

I did unlock the bootloader via the official method. Could that be a reason why I'm having trouble?

The unlocking of the bootloader wasn't done on the Win 8 PC but on a Win 7 laptop which I don't have access to right now.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Reason I want those drivers to work is because I want to flash a custon ROM since the ICS update still isn't available for my partilar device and I'm tired of wiaiting for it, so if anyone knows how to do that without those drivers that would be great (although I think that's not possible).

so you already unlocked the bootloader? you don't need to unlock it if you want to flash your phone with Sony's firmware, if you want a custom ROM you do have to, know that once you unlock your bootloader your DRM keys are gone forever and you can not update your phone with either PCC or SUS

on a side note, what's the point on the other 2 threads then if you are flashing your phone?

The first thread was posted 6 months ago so the point of that one should be obvious, at that point I assumed I would receive the update within a reasonable timespan and I liked to know what the timespan would be approximately. The reason I replied to it today is because someone said it would take 4-6 weeks and it's been 25 weeks right know.

The second one was to see if anyone had an explantation as to why it's taking so long. At the time I posted it I didn't decide to flash my phone yet.

I know the DRM keys are gone forever, didn't know that I wouldn't be able to update via SUS or PCC anymore (not that that's a problem).

Before I can flash a custom ROM though I need the drivers to work propperly, which they don't.

In normal mode it works fine, in flash mode/fastboot mode my computer doesn't recognize my phone even after installing the drivers.
