Is the flashlight / torch on the Z5 still weak as earlier xperias or has the brightness been improved.

Well, how much I can see it is same. I have z3c and z5c and no some difference...I can watch in bouth witouth problems. Try Lg g4 if you need extra strong led. People can blind when taking photos in dark.
