Hey people, I've flashed my X10 mini(E10a) with a E10i firmware, and I've tried to get back with the E10a but the PC Companion says that its not possible to update, and SEUS says that I have the newer version.
What I do?
Thanks!
Hi,
Ignoring your other comments about warranty, etc.
I'm confused about how you are unable to reinstall the "A" firmware? If you used a third-party tool to make the change, doesn't it stand to reason you could change it back in the same tool?
Just wondering.
Well, I don't know why, but it won't works like before.
With the E10a firmware, I always have the option to update or repair, but now if I click on repair on PC Companion, it gets me an error message, and if I use SEUS, it only says that I have the last update but don't give me the repair option.
I'm very very confused.
Please, somebody help me!
I don't know what to do =(
How did you actually 'flash' the firmware from one to the other? And what was your reason for doing this? Where did you get the information together to carry out this operation. I am a little confused about what you have done. Assume you didn't get any joy over on XDA?
I flashed with the SEUS. Clicked on repair option, and when the download finished, I changed the files that the program have downloaded, with the other ones(from the E10i).
I did this because my GPS wasn't working like before, was taking too much time to lock. And I have tried factory reset, repair, updates an everything, but nothing. With the other firmware it worked good. But now I want to get back with the stock, in the case of use warranty or something.
I think I'll try to take it to warranty.
Did you back up the files before you replaced them to another folder, if you did them you can run the process you did again then replace the downloaded files with the old ones.
As long as you've only used software for your phone from the SE website, the warranty will still be valid. Your GPS will slow down after a software update or reset because the phone loses your geographical position/setting and takes a while to regain it; this is normal.
Yes, I have saved them. But SEUS and PC Companion don't give me the options to update or repair, they only say that I have the last update.
Yes, I only used SEUS and PC Companion, nothing more.
How many time the GPS take to back to its normal time to lock?
And with the E10i firmware, will I be able to receive the Android 2.1 and next updates?
Thank you so much for the help and attention!
OK have a look at the process on this web site it will, it is a way of rebranding your phone see if it helps with your problem.
If you have flashed it in this way then as you have the originals just flash it back in the same process, but keep a backup of the two files you backed up.
If you flashed from E10a to E10i in this way you should be able to flash it from E10i to E10a
Rebranding you phone in this way can result in corrupting the software completely and you end up with the yellow exclamation mark instead of a phone, SEUS should be able to repair it if you do but make sure you are comfortable doing this because there is always the potential to end up with an expensive shiny paper weight.
Read the steps a few times to make sure you don't mess it up, in the end its your choice, if it works you will be really happy, if it doesn't please dont throw the paper weight at me.

Dont download any of the files as these are X10's not the minis or mini pros, the original ones you backed up are the ones you want.
